Communities In Schools of Jacksonville has kept students on track for graduation for more than 30 years and has helped more than 110,000 individual students. We have seen firsthand that any obstacle to learning – even the small ones – can add up to make a significant impact on a child’s development. That’s why we’re embedded in the lives of our students and families to help them overcome obstacles that range from learning disabilities and social struggles to food insecurity and homelessness.

We serve students in Duval County Public Schools every day by surrounding them with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Our programs impact struggling students through case management, literacy tutoring and afterschool programs. Our staff works with hand in hand with school administration, teachers, parents and neighborhood partners – including local government, businesses, other nonprofits and civic organizations – to bolster student success.

Hope At Hand is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides art and poetry sessions to vulnerable and at-risk youth populations. Using creativity, language, art and therapeutic approaches, we facilitate healing and personal growth for children and adolescents.
